Margaret Lowe, 84, of North Fairview Drive, Lenoir, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Gateway Nursing Center. She was born Aug. 2, 1929, to the late William Oscar and Nora Lou Cooper Lowe. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Ms. Lowe attended Faith Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include two nephews, M. Richard Collins and wife Martha of Butler, Tenn., and Terry L. Collins and wife Cindy of Lincolnton; three nieces, Marilyn C. Gragg and husband Larry, Linda C. Hamby and husband Gwyn, and Melissa L. Adams and husband Manuel, all of Lenoir; and a host of other relatives.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jerry Lingerfelt. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

On April 12, 2014, the heavenly angels sang praises as Terry Wayne Greene, 52, of Lenoir entered the gates to meet his personal Savior, Jesus Christ. There to meet him with outstretched arms was his beloved wife, Judy Price Greene.
Born June 28, 1961, to the late Ralph and Pauline Greene, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Judy Price Greene, of 15 years; his paternal grandparents, Ralph and Dorothea Greene; his maternal grandparents, Ivey and Lora Craig; his brothers Roger Greene and Marshall Greene Sr.; and father-in-law Paul Price.
Terry is survived by a daughter, Melissa Greene King and husband Todd of Gamewell; a son, Jarrett Greene and wife Lacy of Lenoir; a sister, Victoria Greene Maness and husband Bruce; two brothers, Ronnie Greene and wife Lorrie, and Danny Greene and Donna; mother-in-law, Barbara Lowe Price, all of Lenoir; and two brother-in-laws, Larry Price and wife Joyce of Collettsville, and Eric Price and wife Stephanie of Glen Alpine. He is also survived by two step-grandchildren, Hailey and Caleb King, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Terry was a faithful member of Harrisburg Baptist Church, where he enjoyed serving the Lord and playing for the church softball team. He also enjoyed other numerous activities such as fishing, gardening, going to flea markets, and festivals. He was an avid fan of NASCAR racing, Carolina Panthers, Washington Redskins, and the Cincinnati Reds. He never met a stranger and always wore a smile.
Terry had a variety of jobs including Broyhill Furniture Industries, Singer Furniture Company, Hammary Furniture Company, and currently employed by Adult and Pediatrics Specialist. Terry especially enjoyed the friendships he developed with his patients.
A celebration of Terry’s life will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at 12 p.m. at Harrisburg Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Harris, Ted Williams, and Jarrett Greene officiating. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Evans Funeral Service from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Kenneth Monroe Phillips, 72, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014.
He was born March 9, 1942, in Watauga County to the late Walter and Artie Phillips. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Terry Braxton Phillips; a sister, Opal Brown; and a brother, Ernest Phillips.
He was of Baptist faith. He retired from Ryder Truck Rental after 30 years of service as a master diesel mechanic. After retirement he was owner and operator of Phillips Industrial Coatings of Lenoir for six years. His happiness was found in many different hobbies. He was a member of the N.C. Cattlemen's Association, the N.C. Beekeepers Association, N.C. Woodturners Association, and the Lenoir Aviation Club. He loved the outdoors and he loved to fly. He was a loving husband, wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Darlene Phillips; daughter, Tina Cannon and husband Tim; daughter, Kim Phillips and fiancé Mark Eller; daughter-in-law, Michelle Phillips; granddaughters, Amanda Crump and husband Phil, Cameron Nelson, Rachel Phillips, and Sarah Phillips; a great-grandson, Evan Crump; brother, Charles Phillips and wife Betty; sister-in-law, Dorothy Phillips; brother-in-law, Furman Brown; and a best friend, Joseph Golds.
A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 1 p.m. Interment will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, from 5 until 6:30 p.m.

Bill Joe Riggs, 86, of Granite Falls passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Riggs was born in Caldwell County to the late John Henry Riggs and Charlotte Flowers Riggs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Ned, Z.O. and Bass Riggs.
A proud WWII veteran, he was stationed in Germany and France. Bill was a retired service manager at local automobile dealerships for over 40 years. As a second career, he retired after 22 years as a bank courier. A lifelong charter member of North Catawba Fire and Rescue, he served actively in the role of fireman and on the Board of Directors for 56 years.
In 2013, Bill received the honor of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, one of the most prestigious awards presented by the governor of North Carolina.
He was a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church in the Baton community.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lois Greene Riggs of the home; his daughters, Sheila Riggs Taylor and husband Roger of Conover, and Sherry Riggs Modlin and husband Monte, and a grandson, Rhyne Modlin, all of Hickory; a brother, John Riggs and wife Peggy of Lenoir; and his sisters, Gwyn Frye, Sabra Melton, and Peggy Jean Wilson and husband Bob, all of Lenoir, and Mary Gay Hickman of Hickory.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 4 p.m. at Mountain Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Clifton Black and the Rev. Jeff Burkheimer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m.
