Robert Todd

Bob Todd, a longtime resident of Granite Falls, left his earthly home on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014. He was born April 29, 1929, in Kansas City, Kan., and served in the Army Air Corps during the Korean conflict.

He is preceded in death by both parents and his wife, Raymore Connelly Todd of Newfoundland, Canada.

He is survived by his sister, Delores Grier of Lenexa, Kan.; a half-sister, Beverly Bailiff; two half-brothers, Jim and Ben Todd; three children, the Rev. Gerald Todd and wife Keri of Towson, Md., Barbara Smith and husband Larry of Daytona Beach, Fla., David Todd and wife Erin of Bethlehem; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Bob was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Taylorsville.

A service of remembrance will be held at Salem Lutheran Church on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ray Ohlendorf officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Caldwell County Hospice, 902 Kirkwood St. NW, Lenoir, NC 28645, or Salem Lutheran Church, 4005 NC 16 N, Taylorsville, NC 28681.

Clifford Brown

Clifford Brown, 66, of Connelly Springs died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014.

The family will receive friends at Mackie Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, 6:30-8:30 p.m. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, Oak Ridge Baptist Church.

Naomi Riddle

Naomi Jean Robinson Riddle, 53, of Weaverville passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at St. Joseph Campus.

Naomi was the daughter of the late Bowers Edward and Catherine Asia Cassida Robinson. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Robinson, and a sister, Frances Williams.

Surviving are her husband, Ronald Eugene Riddle; children, Natasha Myers, Laythe Riddle, and Asia Riddle; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Grayce, Laci, and Maddox; sisters, Lola Edwards, Sherry Parker, and Patty Williams; brothers, Sherrill Robinson, Timmy Robinson, and Samuel Robinson; and by many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Ronald Rosenbalm, 56, of Hickory passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at his residence.

Jewel McLean

Jewel Bernice McLean, 89, of Lenoir passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.

Mrs. McLean was born in Caldwell County to the late Thomas Avery Holden and Grace Blanche Triplett Holden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Fares McLean; a brother, Paul Holden; and two sisters, Opal Austin and Mozelle Minton; and a son-in-law, Darrell Pope. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God of Resurrection Hope.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Dennis Ray McLean and wife Mary Ann of Lenoir; her daughters, Frances Marlene Hedrick and husband Ned, Evelyn Loraine Pope, and Linda Diane German and husband Larry, all of Lenoir; a sister, Sally Pritchard of Lenoir; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at 2 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with the Rev. Jim Ritch officiating. The family will receive prior to the service at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
