Diana Zembaty Estes, 59, of Lenoir passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, at her residence.
Mrs. Estes was born in Pittsfield, Mass., to the late Stanley Zembaty and Cynthia Russell Zembaty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, William Estes; a brother, Eddie Zembaty; and a sister-in-law, Mary Estes.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Estes of the home; her brothers, Stephen Zembaty of Raleigh and Vincent Zembaty of Kissimmee, Fla.; her brothers-in-law, James Estes of Lenoir, Wayne Estes of Hudson, David Estes of Lenoir and Robin Cardwell of Hudson; her sisters-in-law, Debra Grethen of Lenoir, Nancy Cardwell of Hudson, Sharon Chester of Lenoir, Valerie Triplett of Lenoir, Kama Estes of Lenoir, Alesa Tingler of Hudson, Billie Holsclaw of Lenoir; and her mother-in-law, Mary Watson Estes.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at Pendry’s Chapel with the Rev. Aldean Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home today, Jan. 31, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be the nephews of Mrs. Estes, James Estes Jr., Ethan Estes, Eugene Grethen, Joshua Triplett, Brandon Triplett, Scott Triplett and Dustin Chester.

Lonnie Joe Lipford, 62, of Ferguson died Monday, Jan. 28, at his home.
Funeral services will be held today, Jan. 31, at 3:30 p.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with the Rev. Terry Hunt, the Rev. Fredrick Howell, the Rev. Juanita Melton and the Rev. Roger Horton officiating. Burial will be in the Harley Lipford Cemetery. The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 2:00 until 3:15 prior to the service.
Mr. Lipford was born in Wilkes County on Sept. 17, 1950, to Harley and Annie Horton Lipford. He was a member of Life of God Christian Outreach.
Mr. Lipford is survived by his mother, Annie Horton Lipford of Ferguson; his ex-wife, Gail Corpening Lipford of Lenoir; three daughters, Shanee Corpening, Renada Lipford and Nita Abdullah, all of Lenoir; two sons, Monolito Lipford of Ferguson and Kelly Powell of Lenoir; nine grandchildren; eight sisters, Patty Howell and husband Fred of Ferguson, Inez Mayes and husband Ed of Taylorsville, Louise Jones and husband A. Y. of Morganton, Juanita Melton and husband Ray of Ferguson, Geneva Gibbs and husband Kenny of Ferguson, Bernice Vaught of Lenoir, Judy Horton and husband Roger of Ferguson, Mary Alice Hartso of Lenoir; two brothers, Clyde Lipford and wife Ann of Ferguson, and Jeff Lipford and wife Maria of Morganton.

Richard “Dick” James Martin, 77, of Cedar Rock Estates Drive, Lenoir, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the residence. He was born May 17, 1935, in South Gate, Calif., to the late Joseph and Ruth Gossler Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Nelson Martin; and daughter, Debra Ruth Martin.
Mr. Martin was a retired furniture executive with Waters Furniture and a member of First United Methodist Church of Lenoir. He also served in the National Guard.
Survivors include one son, the Rev. Rick Martin and wife Donna of Richmond, Va.; and three grandchildren, Hannah Kelly, Micah Martin and Elizabeth Martin.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m. at Belleview Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Rick Martin and the Rev. Jamie Armstrong.
