Doris Virginia Bauman, 84, of Rootstown passed away Sunday December 9, 2012, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born January 24, 1928, in Meigs County, Ohio, to the late Albert and Edith (Balderson) Wyers. Mrs. Bauman lived most of her life in Rootstown. After raising seven children she and her husband moved back to West Virginia after William retired but returned to Rootstown a few years ago.
Doris enjoyed church activities, sewing, cooking and camping with her family. She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Brimfield (former member of Blackhorse Baptist, Ravenna and Cedar Grove Freewill Baptist in West Virginia). Survivors include her husband of 66 years, celebrated this past May 18, 2012, William C. Bauman; her children, William H. (Carol) Bauman of Rootstown, Harold Edward (Peggy) Bauman of Ravenna, James A. (Barbara) Bauman of Pennisula, Ohio, Ginger (Jack) Elrod of Lenoir, N.C., Mary Kay (Ernest) Shipp of Rootstown, Sandra Lynn (Howard) of Ravenna, Rebecca Ann (Toby) Nichols of Walker, West Virginia; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Joyce) Wyers of Cambridge; sister Charlene Todd of Ravenna; sisters-in-law, Linda Wyers and Joyce Wyers of Ravenna.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes, Ravenna Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday December 12, 2012, with calling hours from noon until the time of services with Pastor Dave Hermann and Pastor Dallas Sanford officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Ravenna, Ohio.
Douglas Lee Clark, 69, of Lenoir passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Select Specialty Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C.
He was born February 18, 1943, in Wilkes County and was the son of the late Edward Clark and Ruth Osborne Clark.
In addition to his parents, he also is preceded in death by his sister, Susan Sumpter.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife Janice Lail Clark of the home; son, Douglas Clark Jr. and wife Libby of Lenoir; a grandson, Justin Clark and wife Anna of Lenoir; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Noah Clark of Lenoir; sister, Ramona Bryant of Lenoir; a brother, Ronald E. Clark and wife Nina of Lenoir; brother-in-law, Grady Sumpter of Lenoir and mother-in-law, Loree Lail of Granite Falls.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Pendry’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Ford and the Rev. Raymond Spann officiating. Receiving of friends will be held prior to the service from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Pendry’s Funeral Home.

Billie Inelle Gamble Booth, 89, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, went to meet her Lord on Saturday, December 8, 2012.
Billie was born in Manning (Clarendon County), S.C., to the late C. Melvin and Effie Hardy Gamble on November 17, 1923. She attended high school in Lake City, S.C., where she met and later married her husband of 65 years, Robert P. Booth, who died July 9, 2007.
Billie also was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Scruggs, of Jacksonville, Fla. She was a longtime resident of Charleston, S.C., where she was active in the Women of Woodcraft, sponsor of the W.O.W. Rangerettes #1260 (both associations of Woodmen of the World), as well as various other organizations. She was also a founding member of Trinity Bible Church.
Billie is survived by her two sons, Robert P. (Bob) Booth and daughter-in-law Glenda of Lenoir, N.C., M.E. (Gene) Booth of Rutherfordton; grandchildren, Josh Booth of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Zachary Booth and wife Leigha of Nebo, N.C., and Laura Booth of Archdale, N.C. Billie also is survived by two great-grandchildren, Callie and Canaan of Nebo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012, in the Florence Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Bobby Gantt and the Rev. Barry Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service in the church narthex.

George Trent Henson, 38, of Valdese passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Valdese General Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Cornerstone Independent Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Cornerstone Independent Baptist Church. Bass-Smith Granite is serving the family of George Trent Henson.
Mr. Bobby Charles Austin,71, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012, at his residence.
Mr. Austin was born in Catawba County on April 16, 1941, to the late Woodrow Charles Austin and Pearl Lucille McCall. He was married to Linda Miller Austin of the residence.
Mr. Austin was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Vietnam.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Christy Dawn Austin of Hudson.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 3 p.m. with Pastor Duane Kuykendall and Pastor John Greene officiating.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, from 1 until 2 p.m.
