Beatrice Triplett

Beatrice Greene Triplett, 86, of Lenoir passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice.

Born in Caldwell County, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Greene and Lona Bryant Greene.

She was a seamstress and a member of Stone Mountain Baptist Church.

Mrs. Triplett was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 60 years, Comodore Triplett; two brothers, Marvin and Kenneth Greene; three sisters, Belle Crisp, Dot Robbins, and Pat Coffey; and two infant siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Tim Triplett and wife Linda of Lenoir, Lonnie Triplett and wife Elizabeth of Lenoir, and Tony Triplett of Granite Falls; her daughter, Judy Greene of Lenoir; her brothers, Horace Greene of Lenoir, Willard Greene of Lenoir, Cecil Green of Hudson, and Sherill Greene of Lenoir; her sisters, Hazel Woods of Lenoir and Suzie Minton of Ferguson; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family of Mrs. Tirplett wil receive friends on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Grandview Park Baptist Church from 2–3 p.m. with the funeral service following at the church sanctuary with the Rev. Raymond Spann officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Triplett’s memory to Caldwell County Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood St. NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.

Jim Haney

Jim Haney, 74, of Lenoir passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice.

Born in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late W.C. Haney and Rose Peterson Haney.

Jim was a hard-working logger, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a super husband who never met a stranger. Those who were his friends always cherished his smile and his bigger than life stories.

Mr. Haney was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 56 years, Geneva Haney of the home; three daughters, Frances Haney Johnson and husband Gene, Phyllis Haney Hudson, and Marcie Haney; five grandchildren, Marland Haney, Blake Moody, James Triplett, Jr., Hillary Tate, and Landon Hudson; and four great-grandchildren, Allie Wright, Aliyah Wright, Lavaris Dula, and Noah Collins Moody.

The family of Mr. Haney will receive friends on Saturday, November 2nd, 2013 at Abundant Life Tabernacle from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm with the funeral service following at the church sanctuary with the Rev. David McNeil and Rev. John Pritchard officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Marland Haney, Blake Moody, James Triplett, Jr., Donald “Duck” Hudson, Kevin Horton, and Brent Kincaid. Landon Hudson, Hillary Tate, Gene Johnson, and Jim Triplett will be serving as honorary pallbearers.

Edith Louise B. Setzer, 81, of Hickory died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013.

Receiving of friends will be Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Mackie Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow in the chapel at 7 p.m.
