Dale Reid, 93, of Lenoir died Friday, April 12, 201,3 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care – Hudson. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory.
Myron Van Holt
Myron Van Holt, 61, of Granite Falls passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Caldwell County Hospice and Palliative Care of Hudson.
He was born Aug. 10, 1951, in Hot Springs to the late William Manley and Dossie Ada Marcum Holt. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings Donald L. Holt, William Morris Holt, Ray Marcum Holt, Ada Maxine Holt Martin and Anna Margaret Holt Fowler.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Roberts Holt of the home; a daughter, Myra Ann Holt McNeely of Charlotte; two stepsons, Tommy Clark and Chris Grogan; a stepdaughter, Jenny Toves; five grandchildren, Jessica Corum, Julia Clark, Gwen Toves, Bradley Colvard and Matthew Grogan; three great-grandchildren, Clark Corum, Fiona Corum and Olivia Gibbs; and five siblings, Gary L. Holt of Hickory, Mary R. Holt Renfro of Lincoln Park, Mich., Ruby Holt Holland of Hickory, Terri Holt Berry of Fort Mill, S.C., and Deborah Holt Gentry of Hendersonville.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, at Mount Hermon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jennifer Hiatt officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to services from 1-2 p.m. at the church.

Billy “Bill” Ray Foster, 76, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice. Mr. Foster was born in China Grove on Nov. 9, 1936, to the late Mamie Foster. He was retired from Lenoir Mirror Company.
He is survived by his son, Don Hamby and wife Cathy; stepson, Robert “Bobby” Hamby and Jeannie; and grandchildren, Katie Hamby, Phillip Crump, Nicholas Crump, Timothy Crump, Joseph Dawson and Jacob Dawson.
A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Todd Braswell officiating.

Donald Ray Church, 64, of Granite Falls passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Frye Regional Medical Center.
Born April 14, 1948, to the late Shirl Louid and Helen Stilwell Church, he was retired from Hickory Springs, where he was a truck driver for over 35 years. Donald attended Friendship Methodist Church in Rhodhiss before he became a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He volunteered at Antioch in many capacities and was a Sunday School Teacher, Usher, Yoke Fellow, participated in the Men's Bible Study and was one of Santa's "special" helpers. He was a Association Member of the Dixie Chapter of 83rd Infantry Division.
Donald enjoyed traveling to conventions, hunting and fishing. He loved to be with his family, friends and making them happy and was also fond of his nieces and nephews.
Including his parents, he is preceded in death by several aunts and uncles. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 40 years, Dianne Freeman Church of the home; sisters, Judy Landreth and husband Conner of Conover, and Pat Canipe of Hickory; brother, Ken Church and wife Rita of Granite Falls; aunt, Leona Church of Rhodhiss; a number of nieces and nephews; many special friends, along with his special pet friends, "Daylee" and "Fluffy."
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 14, from 6-8 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church. Services will be held on Monday, April 15, at 4 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Morris and the Rev. Don Ingle officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, 580 Antioch Church Road, Taylorsville, NC 28681. Arrangements entrusted to Alexander Funeral & Cremation Service.
