Anna Bare

Anna Lee Gragg Bare, 61, of Lenoir went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at her home. Born Nov. 1, 1951, in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late John McCoy and Cora Coffey Gragg, and the wife of Coy Bare of the home.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister and three grandchildren. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was a member of Celia Creek Baptist Church since 1992. 

She worked in the furniture industry for 35 years, sold Avon for 30 years and loved to play softball. Surviving other than her husband, Coy, are four children, Bobby John Arnett, Pamela Ann Arnett, Coy Timothy Bare Jr. and, wife Alison, Joshua Jacob Bare and wife Samantha; brothers, Albert “Bud” Gragg, Billy Joe “Bill” Gragg, Allen Michael “Mike” Gragg; stepbrothers, Ronnie and Johnny Greer; stepsisters, Jean and Donna Greer; grandchildren Cameron James Arnett, Coy Timothy Bare III, Daisy Renee Bare, Mariah Jentel Bare, Tyler Grayson Penley, Harley Nicole Bare, Arianna Nicole Rhoades, Jazmine Alizae Rhoades, Cora Angelique Bare and expecting a new baby boy.

A celebration of Mrs. Bare’s life will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Celia Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Shew and Pastor Ambrose Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 5 p.m., one hour prior to the service at Celia Creek Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Cameron Arnett, Gary Dishman, Buddy Dishman, Jeremy Griffin, Chris Erskine and Jonathan Erskine. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Gragg and Todd Roberts. Flowers are appreciated, or memorials may be made to Celia Creek Baptist Church, 4778 Celia Creek Road, Lenoir, NC 28645. Carroll Detter

Carroll Dean Detter, 71, of Lenoir, passed away Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. 

Funeral services will be at noon Monday at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Vale. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon at the church. 

Dale Thomas Hall

Dale Thomas Hall Sr., 48, of Wilkesboro Boulevard, Boomer, passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Frye Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory.
