Richard Lee Storie, 74, of Morganton passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Storie was born in Caldwell County to the late Fred Storie and Nancy Honeycutt Storie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Lynn Storie, two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Storie was a loving dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was a dedicated member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Morganton, where he served as a deacon and also served on the church planning team.
Those left to cherish his memory, are his faithful wife of 54 years, Delma Loretta Storie of the home; two sons, Rick Storie and wife Lisa, and Brett Storie and wife Melissa, both of Morganton; two daughters, Sandy Whisenant and husband Richard of Morganton, and Stacey Woods of Happy Valley; a very special granddaughter, Casey Darveaux; and a sister, Pauline Gragg of Lenoir. Also left to cherish his memory are 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at 1 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with Homer Murdock officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Messer, Billy Johnson, Richard Whisenant, Daniel Boughman, Joe Owens, Daniel Woods, Harold Daves and Jordon Boughman.

Mason Eric Dula, 61, of Marion passed away at McDowell Hospital on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014.
He was born on April 18, 1952, to the late Howard Phillips and Ramatha Dula. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Michael Phillips, Dennis Phillips, Greg Dula and Conley Dula, and one sister, Yvonne Correa. Mr. Dula was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Marion and a past member of Dulatown Presbyterian Church of Lenoir. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a avid storyteller.
Mr. Dula is survived by his wife, Sharon Kincaid Dula of the home; sons, Tony Dula of Phoenix, Ariz, Robert Biddle and wife Mandy of Marion, Brian Biddle of Marion, Christopher Biddle and wife Erica of Lenoir, Eric Biddle and wife Heather of Taylorsville, and Myron Biddle of Marion; one daughter, Wanda Biddle of Greensboro; a sister, Blondie Jones of Lenoir; along with 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of other family, nieces and nephews.
Services for Mr. Dula will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Smith, the Rev. Jeff Conley and the Rev. Elijah Freeman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church from 12 to 1 p.m.
Burial will be at the North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at 2 p.m., with military honors provided.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the family. Kirksey Funeral Home of Marion has the honor of serving the family of Mr. Dula.

Marjorie Evelyn Craig Campbell, 80, passed away on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Carolina Rehab Center of Burke. She was born in Caldwell County on June 6, 1933, to the late Isaac Wilfong Craig and Elizabeth Shew Craig. She was married to the late Howard Garland Campbell.
Mrs. Campbell retired from Broyhill Furniture Industries after 48 years of service. She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church for 15 years and enjoyed attending the Morning Bible Class and Sunday School. After retirement she enjoyed artwork, attending to her flowers and gardening.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, David Alan Campbell.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by her sons, Boyd Campbell and wife Vicki, and Neal Campbell; brothers, Roger Craig and wife Mary, and Alan Craig, MD; and granddaughter, Holly Campbell.
A celebration of Mrs. Campbell’s life will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ted Williams officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 prior to the service.

Dennis W. Harris, 71, of Hibriten Mountain Road, Lenoir, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was born July 25, 1942, in Yancey County to the late Paul Lee and Lucille Hensley Harris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell D. Harris and Doyle Lee Harris.
Mr. Harris was a self-employed licensed contractor and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Natalie Grindstaff Harris of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Denise Harris Doucette and husband William of Raleigh; two sisters, JoAnn Price of Granite Falls, and Brenda Jane Fox and husband Clyde of Green Mountain; and two grandchildren, Harris VanInwagen Bassett and Carlton Grindstaff Bassett, both of Raleigh.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Dry Ponds Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Rick Crouse.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Vergie Ella Brown, 86, of Lenoir passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Gateway Nursing Center.
Mrs. Brown was born June 9, 1927, in Wilkes County to the late Dow Triplett and Velma Townsend Triplett. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Roy E. Brown; two great-grandchildren, McKenzie Whorley and Spencer Hendrix; a son-in-law, Charles Gilreath; and five brothers, Donald, Charles, Bobby, Larry and Clinard Triplett. She was a homemaker and a member of Indian Hills Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ronald Brown and wife Judy of Lenoir, Kenneth Brown and wife Kathy of Lenoir, and Jerry Brown of Charlotte; her daughters, Evelyn Teague and husband David of Lenoir, and Linda Gilreath of Wilkesboro; a brother, Clyde Triplett of Hudson; her sisters, Wilma Coffey of Hudson, Shirley Moretz of Hudson, and Marie Johnson of Granite Falls; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at 10 a.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with the Rev. Edd Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home prior to the service on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Brown, James Brown, Jacob Gilreath, Kelly Ford, Eddie Moretz and Ronnie Hendrix.
