Minnie “Dinah” Ruth Puett, 48, of Lenoir passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital.
Born March 12, 1964, in Washington County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Leroy Gobble and Betty Little Gobble.
Mrs. Puett was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son, David Perkinson of Petersburg, Va; her fiancé, Jody Houck; sisters, Shirley Mims of Granite Falls, Mary Russell of Granite Falls, Dorothy Taylor of Abingdon, Va., Betty Russell of Hudson, and Katherine Otey of Abingdon, Va.; brothers, Wyndom Dunn of Abingdon, Va., James Gobble of Bristol, Va., Donald Gobble of Sugar Grove, Joe Gobble of Lenoir, and Bill Otey of Berryville, Va..; one stepson, Cody Houck of the home; stepdaughter, Candace Houck of Granite Falls; and stepmother, Katherine Gobble of Abingdon, Va..; and her pet companion “Dudley”
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 8, 3 p.m. at Bass-Smith Granite Chapel with the Rev. Wayne White officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. Friday, March 8, prior to the service at Bass-Smith Granite.
Serving as pallbearers were David Russell, Donald Adam Gobble, Joseph Livesay, Cody Houck, Jeremy Houck, Hunter White, Joey Gobble, and Chris Cannon.

Faye Warren Hadley, 92, of Hudson passed away Friday, March 8, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care – Hudson surrounded by her family.
Born Aug. 23, 1920, in Melba, Idaho, she was the daughter of the late Hill Henry Warren and Charlcy Mae Bradshaw.
Mrs. Hadley worked for many years with Southern Bell Telephone Company as an operator.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Frank Gerald Hadley of the home; sons, Roy Hadley (Debra) of Lenoir, and Wayne Hadley (Diane) of Hickory; and four grandchildren, Spencer Hadley, Brynn Hadley, Forrest Hadley and Marissa Schort. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Scott King (Gena), Devin King and Alexis King.
There will be no public services held at this time.

Grady Stephen Mathes, 72, of Resaca Street, Lenoir, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Frye Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 26, 1941, in Caldwell County to the late Russell and Mamie Moore Mathes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Dula Mathes; a brother, Howard Mathes; and sister, Annie Mae Mathes.
Mr. Mathes worked for Bernhardt Furniture and was a member of Little Rock AME Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Danielle Mathes of the home; one brother, Edward Mathes of Collettsville; one sister, Maggie Mathes Corpening of Lenoir; and one granddaughter, Latoria Estella Mathes.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, March 10, at 5 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Mary Lloyd and Pastor Samuel Patterson.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Shirley Hall, 63, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013, at the Brian Center in Hickory. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Evans Funeral Service.
