Letter: Women invited to come together
To the editor:
This is an open letter to the City of Lenoir and Caldwell County.
Over the last several months the women of St. Paul AME Church, just as many of you, have become concerned about the violence that has and is taking place in our nation, our state and our county. In the midst of most of these tragedies, there are among the hurting, mothers.
With this as the catalyst for change, we the women of St. Paul AME Church are inviting mothers and all women to come together. We are offering “A Call For Praying Mothers.” To begin this work, St. Paul AME at 443 Finley Avenue in Lenoir is opening our doors for prayer.
Beginning on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, and each second Friday of the month our doors will be open and the community is invited to come and have prayer. You may sit in silence. You may pray out loud. You may ask others to pray with you. This is an informal gathering where we will have “a little talk with Jesus.”
We want mothers to know that you are not alone when troubles come. “We as women and mothers are all in this together.”
Please extend this invitation for prayer to your church, your neighbors and any other women in need of prayer.
