Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute rebounded from its first loss of the season earlier this week to win 115-87 at Southern Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon in Central, S.C.

Marcus Shaw scored 20 to lead the Cobras in a game head coach Tim Cline said was one of the best played all season by Caldwell.

"I was pleased with how we came out ready to play today," Cline said. "This was probably the best start of any game we have had this season and I was happy to see the team respond."

Octavius Robinson added 19 for the Cobras with Jordan Wright pitching in 16.

Caldwell led 56-49 at halftime in a game that Cline said wasn't as close as the halftime score indicated.

"We built a pretty good lead in the first half and Wesleyan hit a couple of 3-pointers to pull close but we never lost control of the game," Cline said. "I was pleased to see Octavius work inside and score in the post."

The Cobras attempted 34 free throws in the game.

Robert Shaw and Darius Curry scored 15 and 14 points for Caldwell, respectively.

Joey Carasinni led Southern Wesleyan with 18 points.
