Mr. James "Charlie" Charles Woods, 52, of Hickory, died Thursday, October 21, 2009.
Born Oct. 23, 1956 in Caldwell County, Charlie was a son of the late Arnie Ray and Star Baker Woods.
He had worked in the furniture industry and was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by two children, Nikki Woods and Jessica Woods, both of Kennesaw, Ga.; two sisters, Maxine Livingston and husband David of Morganton; Jo Hamrick of Sanford and two special friends, Mary Roseman and Ted Tate.
A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2009 in the Woods Family Cemetery.

Jessica Emily Ormand, 36, of Lenoir, died Thursday, October 22, 2009. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Evans Funeral Service and Crematory.
BOYD COFFEY
Boyd Ray Coffey, 86, of Culpeper, Va., died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Culpeper Regional Hospital with his children and grandchildren by his side. He was born March 26, 1923 in Blowing Rock, the eighth of nine children to the late Robey Leroy and Annie Lee Wright Coffey.
Boyd entered the United States Army in 1943 at the age of 20. He served as Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, Company A, 27th Armored Infantry Battalion, 9th Armored Division during World War II, spending most of his military career in Germany, France and Belgium. He engaged in several battles, received the Purple Heart and was awarded the Bronze Oak Leaf cluster for outstanding service. Boyd endured eight days of hell in the Battle of the Bulge where he was one of only 13 men in his platoon that survived to cross the Rhine River. After moving his family to Culpeper in 1950, he became a building contractor for 40 years. He loved hunting, baseball, bluegrass music and dancing.
He is survived by six children, Sue Butler and her husband, Dick, Boyd Thomas "Bob" Coffey and his wife, Mary, Jerry Steven "Steve" Coffey and his wife, Shirley, James Scott Coffey and his wife, Diane, Dennis Wayne Coffey and his wife, Donna, and Douglas Dayne "Doug" Coffey and his wife, Bonnie.
Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, Michael Richards, Chris Richards, Melissa Brill, Amy Woodward, Lorrie Maley, Matthew Coffey and Sarah Tompkins, and eight great grandchildren, Anna Richards, Dalton and Chase Richards, Lexi Leavell, Morgan and Wyatt Tompkins and Justin and Ashley Deane and a special friend, Dorothy Scroggins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Coffey, a grandchild, Tommy Coffey, and his siblings, Lena Mae, Ruth, Lottie Merle, Aileen, Bina, Lela, Roy and Cora Lee.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 23, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Va.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Vaughn officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery with military honors provided by the Culpeper American Legion Post #330 and Culpeper V.F.W. Post #2524.
Pallbearers will be Chris Richards, Michael Richards, Matthew Coffey, Dennis Coffey, Steve Coffey and Doug Coffey. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Coffey, Bob Coffey, Tony Tharpe and Paul Fincham.

JAMES DIXON JR.
Mr. James "Snake" Dixon, Jr., 66, of 1804 Wintergreen Circle, Knoxville, Tenn., passed on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 following a brief illness at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
Born October 7, 1943 to Winnie Bowers Dixon and the late James E. Dixon, Sr. of Lenoir.
After graduating from Freedman High School in 1962, he served in the United States Army. He earned a degree in recreation from Caldwell Community College. After relocating to Knoxville, Tenn., he worked for WSI Oakridge Services for 25 years. He was a member of Westend Mennonite Brethren Church. He attended Parkwest Church of God in Lenoir City, Tenn. As an avid golfer and traveler, "Snake" made many friends and had many golfing brothers. He made many long lasting friendships and relationships while living in Tennessee.
James Dixon, Jr. is survived by his mother and four siblings; his brothers, Calvin Dixon and his wife Betty, and Fred Kent Dixon and his wife Vicki, all of Fort Worth, Texas; his sisters, Geraldine Dula and her husband, Sam, Jr., and Claudia Dixon, all of Lenoir; two aunts, Edith Felder, and Susie Dixon, both of Lenoir; and a host of other relatives, and extended family in Knoxville, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his father, both paternal and maternal grandparents, John and Hester Hartso Dixon, and Claude and Minnie Horton Bowers; brothers, Johnny and Mike Dixon, niece, Tammy Walton and other relatives. He was respected and admired by those who knew him. His "quick-wit" and no-nonsense personality will be missed.
The funeral service is scheduled for Monday, October 26, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. James Perkins, Elder Billy Joe Lipford, James Wilfong and Terry Hunt officiating. Burial will follow services at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 25, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at E.R. McGimpsey, Sr. Memorial Chapel at Ebony Funeral Services, 519 Main St. NW Lenoir, NC 28645.
