Grandview Park Baptist Church will host a community-wide health fair Saturday, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m.-noon. Stroke Center Coordinator Toni Bartlett from Caldwell Memorial Hospital will be doing a free health screening. A light breakfast will be served. Storehouse Daily Bread will host a golf tournament Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Coves Golf Course. There will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start for the four-person captain's choice format. The cost is $45 per player with prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive, as well as cash prizes for the top finishing teams. Mulligans and skirts are available along with door prizes. Crossroads Community Church invites any family in need to participate in its "Storehouse Daily Bread Ministry." Located in the Fairway Shopping Center in Whitnel, families may come to the church parking lot each Monday between noon and 4:30 p.m. for free groceries.

First Church of God is having a call to prayer at 10 a.m. on Saturdays. Each Saturday when fire alarms sound around Lenoir and Caldwell County at 10 a.m., they ask citizens to stop and pray for the city, world, churches, wars and other issues of concern.

Peoples Tabernacle for God Inc. will feed members of the community from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. every Saturday.
