Baton United Methodist Church will have a free fall festival Saturday, Oct. 3 from 2:30-6:30 p.m. There will be hot dogs, barbecue, a hayride to the pumpkin patch at Wilson's Farm along with a mega moonwalk and giant superslide for children and gospel praise music by Covenant, III 'n One and Jeff Holtsclaw.

The church is located at 1034 Dry Ponds Road at its intersection with Connelly Springs Road.

South Lenoir Church of God's Youth Choir reunion, under the direction of Dr. Kenneth and Priscilla Hensley, will be held Saturday, Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hudson Church of God. There will be numerous groups and specials. For more information, call 828-493-4898.

Sunday

Cajah's Mountain Church of God will host its homecoming service Sunday, Oct. 4 at 10:30 a.m. with lunch and singing to follow. Workers in Harvest will sing during the morning service and again at 2 p.m. Weather permitting, Pastor Sam Abee will deliver the morning sermon from the rooftop because a monetary goal of raising $750 was reached during Vacation Bible School in August.

Calvary Advent Christian Church's ladies of the Mattie Rice Women's Home and Foreign Mission Society will lead the morning worship service Sunday, Oct. 4 at 10:30 a.m. The featured speaker will be Lana German. Special music will be shared by Beattie Miller and ladies' bell ringers. There will be a spaghetti lunch following the service.

Celia Creek Baptist Church will host its homecoming service Sunday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. Special singing and speaking will be featured, with a covered dish lunch following the service in the fellowship hall. For more information, call 759-1711.

First Advent Christian Church will celebrate its homecoming service Sunday, Oct. 4, with revival services following Oct. 5, 6 and 7 with the Rev. Billy Mobley as the guest speaker.

Miller Hill Baptist Church will host October revival services Sunday, Oct. 4-Sunday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. each Sunday. Pastor Steve Walsh will speak during the 11 a.m. service Oct. 4, with the Rev. Todd Leger, associate pastor and youth director of Union Baptist Church speaking that evening. The Rev. Scott Hedge of Willomore Baptist Church in Greensboro will speak during the Oct. 11 services, and the Rev. Steve Jarvis of Colonial Baptist Church in Trinity will speak Oct. 18. The Rev. Tom Brown of Northside Baptist Church in Greensboro will be the speaker during the Oct. 25 services.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church will host revival services Oct. 4-7 with the Rev. Hank Parker as the guest speaker. The Sunday services will be at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., with services Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Zion E&R United Church of Christ will host World Communion Sunday on Oct. 4 during the 11 a.m. worship service. "The Silly Kids" and "Bones" (Zion's puppet ministry) will make a special guest appearance for the Children's Moment. There also will be a UCC Special Mission offering for Neighbors in Need, and jars of peanut butter will be collected for Yokefellow food pantry.

Monday

Dulatown Presbyterian Church will host revival services Oct. 5-7 at 7 p.m. each night with the Rev. Dr. Michael Robinson, pastor of Statesville Avenue Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, as the guest speaker. Wednesday, Oct. 7 will be Youth and Young Adult Night.

Green Mountain Baptist Church will hold revival services Monday, Oct. 5 through Thursday, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Pastor Billy Seats from Yadkinville will be preaching each night. Prayer room begins at 7:15 p.m. There will be special music nightly.

Friday

Harrisburg Baptist Church will host a benefit barbecue to help with Lisa Miller's medical expenses. She is receiving treatments for stage 4 melanoma in Baltimore, Md. The event will be Oct. 9-10 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. each day at the church. Plates are $6 each and include barbecue, slaw, beans, roll and dessert. Tickets will be sold prior to the benefit. Colliers United Methodist Church will host a family picnic Sunday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. It will be a hot dog supper with all the fixings along with homemade ice cream and desserts. Littlejohn United Methodist Church will host a chicken pie supper Saturday, Oct. 17 starting at 5 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. The menu will consist of chicken pie, pintos, green beans, baked apples, slaw, breads and desserts for $7 a plate. Take-out service will be available. The event will be used as a mission projects fundraiser for the United Methodist Women.

Crossroads Community Church will host a Sunday school growth program at 10 a.m. every Sunday in October. Classes are available for people of all ages.

First Church of God is having a call to prayer at 10 a.m. on Saturdays. Each Saturday when fire alarms sound around Lenoir and Caldwell County at 10 a.m., they ask citizens to stop and pray for the city, world, churches, wars and other issues of concern.

Peoples Tabernacle for God Inc. will feed members of the community from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. every Saturday.
