Pop Ferguson and Robin Rogers will have the Civic Center swinging on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Pop (Clyde Sr.) Ferguson has been playing guitar for nearly 70 years. A native of Wilkes County, Pop developed a unique approach that reflects Appalachian and Piedmont roots with a foundation of pure, deep Blues.

Pop plays lead guitar and lends authentic bluesy vocals to traditional blues hits from the early 1900s to modern-day tunes. Pop's band includes two world-class guitars, bass, harmonica, and drums with members ranging in age from 35 to 80. The band mixes blues interpretations with some rock and Motown favorites that tend to get most people up and moving. With a combined total of over 150 years of musical experience, the Pop Ferguson Blues Revue will blow you away.

Joining Pop will be Robin Rogers, who was nominated for Best Female Artist at the 2009 Blues Blast Music Awards. Music has been Robin Rogers' consuming passion ever since her days as a teenaged street singer. Possessing a deeply expressive and soulful voice and an infectious enthusiasm for the blues, Robin and Her Hot Band have developed a devoted following in the Charlotte area that continues to spread throughout the southeast.

If you love the blues or just good music, be sure to catch the Pop Ferguson Blues Revue and Robin Rogers and Her Hot Band at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. This event is part of CCC&TI's Performing Artist Series. Tickets for the show are $12 for adults and $5 for children.
