COY CLARKE

Mr. Coy Ernest Clarke, 74, of Morganton, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 17, 2009, while at his residence.

Born April 18, 1935, in Caldwell County, NC, he was a son of the late Columbus Postelle Clarke and Minnie Belle Putnam Clarke. Mr. Clarke was a co-founder of Four Truckers, Inc. He enjoyed golf and traveling, especially trips in his RV.

He will loving be remembered by his wife, Geraldine Conley Clarke, of the home; a son, Robert Eric Clarke and wife, Teresa, of Drexel; a daughter, Ann Clarke Flynn and husband, Gary, of Morganton; a brother, John Calvin Clarke, of Collettsville, NC; a sister, Minnie Kathleen McGalliard, of Collettsville, NC; three grandchildren, Kendal Leigh Lowman, Robert Eric Clarke II and Lindsay Marie Jubin; He will also be remembered by a great granddaughter, Bailey Jo Lowman.

Funeral Services for Mr. Clarke will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2009, at the Morganton First Church of God, Summers Road, Morganton, with Dr. Ron Wellnor and the Rev. Don Blankenship officiating. Mr. Clarke will lie in state 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the Church. Entombment will follow at the Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Kirksey Funeral Home, Morganton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Clarke’s memory to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690.
