Mrs. Mary Evelyn Tuttle Sudderth, 93, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Sudderth was born in Caldwell County on August 2, 1919 to Robert Columbus Tuttle and Caroline Kirby Tuttle. She was a member of Konnoak Baptist Church and retired from Sears and Roebuck Company. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert William Sudderth; and an infant son, Robert Duane Sudderth. Surviving are two sons, Tom Sudderth and wife Wilda of Lewisville, and David Sudderth and wife Robin of Yadkinville; four grandchildren, Tim Sudderth and wife Stephanie of Charlotte, Rhonda Tiddy and husband Kevin of Lewisville, Haley and Erika Sudderth, both of Yadkinville; and six great grandchildren. A funeral service was held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 at Konnoak Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. A graveside service followed at 2:30 p.m. Monday, at Yadkin Baptist Church in Lenoir. James M. “Jim” Hodges, age 76, of Dotson Lane, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Hodges was born July 20, 1936 in Watauga County, a son of the late Paul Washington Hodges and Lillie Mae Shore Hodges. He retired from Civil Service and served in the Korean War with United States Army and Air Force. Mr. Hodges played multiple instruments for the Boone Trail Band and his church, for many,many years.
Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife Jimma Lou Culler Hodges of the home; two sisters, Jane Main and husband Ronda of Granite Falls, and Jo Ann Crump and husband Jerry of Lenoir, and a special sister-in-law, Lana King of Mountain City. He is also survived by a number of special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who loved him.
In addtion to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Eggers, brother-in-law, Blaine, and his beloved Boston Terrier, Mandolin.
Funeral services for James M. “Jim” Hodges will be conducted Sunday afternoon, February 17, 2013, at 2:00, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 12:30 until 2:00 o’clock. Officiating will be Pastor Wynn Greer and Reverend David Hankal. Military graveside rites and burial, provided by American Legion Post 130 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 90, will follow in Jont Brown Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, from 12:30 until 2:00 o’clock, at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Adam Calvin Clarke, 21, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, February, 14, 2013 at Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston Salem.
Adam was born at Grace Hospital in Morganton, NC. He is survived by his father, Jeffery D. Clarke and his mother, Karen W. Clarke of Lenoir, his grandparents Linda Walker, John and Kaye Clarke, great great aunt Lunda Wheeler and many aunts uncles, cousins and friends. He was a 2011 graduate of Haywood Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Fish and Wildlife Management. He was employed part time at Lowes Home Improvement in Morganton, NC. Adam was a member of Mulvale Baptist Church. Adam loved being outdoors hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Grace Walker and Florence Chester, and a great uncle, Ray Walker.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, February 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Mulvale Baptist Church with Reverend Brian Smith and Reverend Stanley Townsend officiating.
The family requests the presence of Adam’s closest friends to attend the 11 AM worship service at Mulvale Baptist Church on Sunday, February 17, 2013 in honor of his life.

Mrs. Jessie Jane Bristol Fults, age 32, of Collettsville, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at her home.
Born July 31, 1980 in Burke County, Jessie was a daughter of James C. and Pauline Bristol. She enjoyed hunting & fishing and listening to music. She had a big heart and went out of her way to help others.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Shon Patrick Fults of Collettsville; her children, Jay Bristol, Reba Bristol and Crissy Bristol of Collettsville; two sisters, Becky Tester, husband Terry, of Happy Valley, and Satin Laws, husband Chris, of Lenoir; a brother, Rocky Bristol, wife Tammy, of Collettsville; she is also survived by numerous other relatives.
A celebration of Jessie’s life will be on Sunday, February 17, 2013 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Michael Woody officiating. Interment will follow the service at Jacy’s Haven in Collettsville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
